         At Pet Utopia, the most amazing transformations happen when pets and their people learn to understand each other.

We don't just groom your dog or cat. We take the time to build trust, create calm, and teach you how to communicate with your pet — whether they're anxious, excitable, difficult to handle, fearful, or simply misunderstood.

What Makes Us Different

Most groomers are authoritative and controlling — they take your pet, manage the problem for you, and hand them back. That's not how we work.

We work with your pet, not on them. The same calm-energy approach we use to give a nervous dog a stress-free bath is the one we use to teach an overprotective dog to relax, or to show a nervous cat owner how to build trust with their own cat. It's all the same method — we just apply it everywhere your pet needs it: the grooming table, the leash, the living room floor.

I've trained and worked in shops across Pennsylvania, Florida, Massachusetts, and Maine — so this isn't just a haircut, it's the best quality you'll find, without meaning to sound snobby about it. Nobody else does it quite this way.

On top of that — I'm fast. I've been grooming since I was twelve years old, and that experience shows: most dogs are done within an hour, huskies (unless the coat is significantly matted) within two, and cats in about 30–40 minutes. Calm doesn't mean slow — it means efficient, because the pet isn't fighting the process.

Every bath uses IV San Bernard products from Italy — genuinely some of the best in the industry. It's not just a bath, it's a nourishing treatment for the skin and coat every single time. And if I notice something during the groom — a hot spot, dry skin, early matting — I address it right then, not after the fact.

One calm philosophy, applied everywhere your pet needs it — not a menu of separate, disconnected services.

The same calm-energy approach shows up in everything we do:

• During grooming and skin & coat care, it's just your pet and me — calm, low-stress handling, one on one
• When it's time for behavior coaching, it's your turn to work directly with your pet, hands-on, while I guide you through it
• Either way, you leave with real-world tools — leash work, handling, calming techniques — that stay with you at home

Dogs and cats consistently leave calmer and happier than they arrived — sometimes purring right there on the table. On the rare occasion a pet has had a rough experience elsewhere (like a difficult vet visit), we'll always be honest with you about what we're seeing and what's realistic for that session.

How Booking Works

Grooming is a standard appointment — the same length of time you'd expect from any groomer, though usually faster. Most dogs are done within an hour, huskies within two (barring a heavily matted coat), and cats in about 30–40 minutes. Pricing (effective November 1st): a cat bath and groom is $166, a strip (no bath) is $114, and a comb-out is $78.

Dog pricing varies by individual case — breed and size (a Yorkie and an Irish Wolfhound need very different time and handling), coat condition, and anxiety level, since a more anxious dog needs extra time to settle before grooming can even begin. Every dog is groomed for their specific coat and skin needs rather than a flat, one-size-fits-all price.

The same is true for cats with heavy matting ("helmet hair") — cats are surprisingly delicate, both physically and emotionally, so a heavily matted cat takes more time and costs more than the standard bath-and-groom price. Time is individual to what that cat actually needs, not a fixed clock. The calm-energy approach happens within the appointment; it doesn't extend it unnecessarily — but a cat that needs more care gets more care.

Even though I take whatever time each pet needs to stay calm, I know dogs and cats would rather be home than anywhere else — including here. I'll call as soon as the appointment is done, or nearly done, and I do ask for prompt pickup. Getting back to their own person, as soon as possible, matters just as much as anything that happens during the visit.

Behavior & Relationship Coaching is different by nature, so it's booked separately. Every dog is different — some sessions wrap up in 30 minutes, others (especially with a more anxious or protective dog) can take two to three hours. Rather than rush you out the door with nothing changed, coaching sessions are scheduled at the end of the day and billed at $135/hour (effective November 1st) — the same value as the time you'd get from a grooming visit, just measured hourly because the length varies by dog.

Most cases are resolved in that one visit — this isn't an open-ended, ongoing commitment. If a follow-up is wanted or needed, that's available too, either back at my place or at your home.

Paris I started working with on her skin problems and hair loss on February 24th, 2025, her newest photos are on March 16th 2025, She now comes in monthly for maintenance Grooming. She is 16 years old, I didn't believe all her hair would grow back in because there was so much damage, but it did. There was no use of cones because when I was doing weekly visits she was very well moisturized and she was getting all of her hair and skin needs met, and does now on a monthly basis. She does my heart good. Her Mum is glad she has some relief, they would dress her in clothes to get her to stop digging and chewing on herself. now she can enjoy her days.
